Rakkenho is a full body therapy using the soles of the feet to slowly and gently press the body at different pressure points.
It is a form of altruistic Yoga which aids well-being and enriches relationships.
Yugen Yamanouchi, the founder of Rakkenho, is a priest from the Shingon Esoteric Buddhist tradition. He is also a master baker, artist, writer, and teacher of life. Yamanouchi Sensei currently lives at Tokoji Temple in Nara, Japan, where he runs the Rakkenho Headquarters Dojo.
What is Rakkenho?
Rakkenho Sutra is a Japanese form of altruistic yoga. Rakkenho is a whole body approach where the giver uses his legs. By using the soles of the feet, the giver slowly and gently presses the receiver’s body at different pressure points across the whole body. The focus is mainly on deep tissues, muscles, body mass & a little bit on the joints.
Tight and hardened muscles are thoroughly massaged; the whole body loosens and relaxes, allowing for the natural flow of healing energies. Rakkenho treats chronic diseases and mental illnesses. It removes accumulated fatigue, revitalises energy flow and energises the body. It is beneficial for frozen shoulders, tennis elbow, spondylitis, lower back pain and issues related to knee, ankle etc. Apart from the physical body, Rakkenho releases mental stress.
